User Experience Designer

Raymour and Flanigan is currently looking for a User Experience Designer with strong interests and capabilities in the design and development of engaging user experiences. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. This individual excels at providing both highly analytical as well as highly creative ideas to a design engagement. The candidate will also have experience in a fast-paced and innovative environment. A thorough understanding of contemporary user-centered design methodologies is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with key internal stakeholders to deliver an effective online user experience, from concept through implementation, for a variety of strategic digital projects as well as on-going incremental improvements.

  • Develop user experience solutions that fit our brand and have business goals in mind.
  • Design user experiences focusing on workflows, user journeys, user flows, storyboards, wireframes, personas, prototypes, site-maps, test cases, or written specifications and user stories.
  • Participate in weekly planning meetings and creative brainstorms sessions.
  • Interact with other departments, offering UX insights and guidance.
  • Promote team's creative culture by sharing ideas, trends and other creative topics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Good understanding of user experience design principles and methodologies
  • Good understanding of web design standards, including: interface standards, usability, accessibility and interactivity
  • Experience creating low/hi fidelity prototypes with modern prototyping tools
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Sketch and Invision; Axure a plus
  • Background in user-centered design and user testing
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS required; JavaScript/JQuery a plus
  • Understanding of common project management practices
  • Understanding of common development practices
  • Good organizational and presentation skills.
  • Problem solving/analysis. Problem solver can resolve issues and able to adapt quickly to process changes.
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
3+ years of experience as a User Experience designer or similar role

EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Interactive Design or related field

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a variety of research methodologies such as usability testing, funnel analysis, and competitive research
  • Experience in documenting User and Business Requirements
  • Experience creating pixel-perfect visual designs
  • Experience with Episerver implementation
  • Experience in information architecture
  • Understanding of website performance data and analytics tools such as Adobe and Google Analytics
  • Understanding of A/B and Multivariate testing methodologies
