Position Overview
As an IT Solution Architect, you transcend your responsibility set from 'doing' technology to 'governing' it. Your primary responsibility is to ensure all technical additions, modifications, changes and deletions are in adherence with and measured against Raymour and Flanigan IT standards, best practices, policies and procedures. This position has responsibility to initiate, facilitate and measure all facets of alignment for design and code validation.
This includes formal reviews of design, code and/or other pertinent components in the SDLC. The IT Solution Architect will have responsibility to make coordinated changes to the standards and policy based here at Raymour and Flanigan. Additionally, the IT Solution Architect will be considered the SME for design related questions, updates or concerns. This role is the primary technical pivot point for ensuring minimal business interruptions and maximum business value related to software and systems based changes. This role will also have responsibility to facilitate and lead design and technical planning sessions as directed by Project or Resource Managers.
This role has requirements for a very specific type of qualified resource. The ideal candidate will have met all the requirements up through Sr. Software Developer as well as a solid background in Software and Systems design principles and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities and Competencies
The responsibility set of an IT Solution Architect starts at ideation and ends at delivery. This role has the responsibility of ensuring the solution exceeds our customer's expectations while supporting the IT journey toward our target state architecture. The Architecture team is deeply engaged with our customers as well with our technical teammates. We walk our talk. Below are some of the primary competencies (and desired experience level) as required of this role:
* Expert of Full lifecycle application development
* Expert at Coding and debugging applications in various software languages (defined below).
* Expert at Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of performance based code metrics.
* Expert at Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
* Expert of Object-oriented concepts
* Expert of Software testing and quality assurance
* Expert of Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation.
* Expert at Support, maintain and document software functionality
* Expert of software integration techniques with existing systems
* Expert of standards compliance

Required Skills and Experience
* BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields with specific emphasis on database design, object oriented programming concepts, software design and development; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 12+ years IT professional experience showing progressive growth and responsibilities.
* Demonstrated ability to lead medium sized technical teams thru specific program level activities.
* Demonstrated expert level of software analysis, software design
* Demonstrated expert level of SDLC understanding and adherence
* Demonstrated expert level of Standards governance and IT policy management
* Proficient at SLA development, management and monitoring
* Proficient at Vendor engagement and management
